Ray Volpe is a name you may have seen popping up a lot lately. The 19-year-old North Carolina via NY based producer has been in the production game for a few years now, but it was throughout 2015 and into this year that he really began to hit the ground running. I remember where I was the first time I heard the razor sharp mechanical doomsday sounds of his “On The Run” single. His “For The Birds” bootleg gave us one of the best trap anthems in recent memory. His OWSLA-released GETTER remix with Tisoki solidified his place among some of the key players in bass music right now. And his surprisingly melodic and warm “Home” single paved the way for an impressive display of emotion and heavy synthesis in his best work yet, the ‘Bipolar’ EP.
